Five clay artists at different phases of their visual arts careers represent unique aspects of botanic nature in this special show. There will be minuscule things like the microscopic cells and peony petals as well as underground tuberous roots and fragmented ruinations. Each element conveys a narrative from a time past and present. They commemorate biological objects that once exist within our ecological surroundings. By bringing models of these organisms and relics into the gallery space, this exhibition appeals to viewers through a sense of relations and connections with mother nature.

I’ll be exhibiting a new series of ceramic works in Dandelions on Pottery Hill, alongside four other ceramic artists. Join us for the opening of the exhibition, as well as an artists tour on 28 June 7pm (Sunday)!
The works that I will be exhibiting this time explore circular and square forms inspired by the Chinese cosmological idea of 天圓地方. Echoing the myth of 盤古 (the primordial giant whose cleaving of chaos brought heaven and earth into being), I break and reassemble these forms to create pieces that evoke relics from imagined histories, where fragmentation becomes an act of rebirth.
